Today I learned that the Lincoln Memorial and the still-standing Union Square Savings Bank, now home to the Daryl Roth Theater in Union Square, were both designed by the same man, Henry Bacon.
I learned this from Sarah Vowell. And this book.
I loved it. I can always tell when I really love a book because no matter what the ending is, I tear up a little when it's over and I have to put it away.
Oh Sarah, we are so not done. I have all of your writing to read.
